Compass Cryogenics, Inc.
Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct

Purpose

At Compass Cryogenics, our work supports life-sustaining systems in some of the most sensitive healthcare environments. The purpose of this Code of Ethics is to establish the expectations for ethical conduct, professional behavior, and regulatory compliance that every employee must uphold. Our reputation and our impact on patient care demand nothing less.

Commitment to Patient Safety

Compass Cryogenics operates with a fundamental commitment to patient safety. The medical gas systems we service are essential to critical care, and any lapse in attention or quality can have serious consequences. Every technician, engineer, and staff member is expected to perform their work with the utmost care and attention to detail, following all applicable safety standards, including NFPA 99 and related codes. Cutting corners is never acceptable.

Professional Conduct in Clinical Environments

Our employees often work in hospitals, surgical centers, and dental offices where patients are present and active care is being administered. In these environments, professionalism is paramount. Team members must conduct themselves with courtesy, discretion, and respect at all times—toward patients, caregivers, and facility staff. Clean appearance, appropriate behavior, and identification as a Compass Cryogenics representative are always required while on-site.

Respect for Privacy and Confidentiality

Working in healthcare settings sometimes means encountering private patient information or witnessing medical procedures. Employees are expected to maintain strict confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines and the policies of the facilities we serve. Patient information—spoken, written, or observed—must never be discussed, photographed, or shared, under any circumstances.

Compliance and Legal Responsibility

Compass Cryogenics complies with all local, state, and federal regulations related to the installation, maintenance, and inspection of medical gas systems. Employees are expected to know and follow these regulations as part of their role. Any suspected violation of legal standards, safety codes, or company policy must be reported immediately. We maintain a zero-tolerance policy for fraudulent reporting, falsified inspection documentation, or misrepresentation of work performed.

Integrity in Business Practices

Honesty is the foundation of our relationship with clients, partners, and regulators. All records—quotes, service reports, inspection findings, and certifications—must accurately reflect the work performed. We do not tolerate deceptive practices or efforts to obscure deficiencies. Transparency builds trust and protects lives.
Commitment to Technical Excellence

All Compass Cryogenics employees are expected to stay current in their field. Whether through continuing education, certification renewal, or staying informed of new code changes, technical competence is essential to our work. We encourage employees to take pride in their knowledge and to ask questions when they encounter uncertainty.

Avoidance of Conflicts of Interest

Employees must avoid situations that could compromise their professional judgment or give the appearance of divided loyalties. Any potential conflict—personal, financial, or relational—should be disclosed to management so it can be reviewed appropriately. We are all accountable to our clients and each other.

Respectful and Safe Work Environment

Our company culture is rooted in mutual respect. Discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in any form will not be tolerated. All employees deserve a workplace where they feel safe, supported, and empowered to do their best work.

Environmental Responsibility and Care for Facilities

We treat our clients’ facilities as if they were our own. Work areas must be kept clean and orderly, with all materials and equipment properly secured. Hazardous materials must be handled and disposed of following environmental regulations and safety protocols.
Reporting Concerns

Employees are encouraged to speak up when they see something that doesn’t align with this Code. Whether it’s a safety concern, ethical violation, or simple question of judgment, the company values proactive communication. Reports can be made directly to management without fear of retaliation.

Acknowledgment

All Compass Cryogenics employees are required to review and acknowledge this Code of Ethics upon hiring and annually thereafter. Adherence to these standards is a condition of continued employment.
